PHOTO 9A puff of smoke is seen from the ignition charge (left), and less than a second later, rocket has soared skyward leaving a trail of smoke.
This rocket was powered by the "C-400" motor, and reached an altitude estimated at 2500 feet (750 metres). Fourteen seconds after liftoff, the parachute deployed and the rocket landed about one and a half minutes later, nearly a half kilometre downwind.
