The rebuilt electronic module, which consisted of the PET circuitry for parachute ejection and a recording timer which allowed for an accurate measurement of the ascent duration.
The "black box" at the top is the power supply, consisting of six AA nickel-cadmium cells. The grey box was used for pre-launch checkout of the circuitry and individual components, such as functionality of the air-speed switch, ignition plug filament, etc.
