PHOTO 63 -- Flight C-14 : July 28, 1979
![]() | Due to a moderately strong wind, the rocket drifted far downrange, touching down in a farmer's field 2500 feet (700 metres) from the launch pad. This flight was, as were many others, tape-recorded in order to record comments and to determine the exact timing of various events during the flight (cam-corders were not readily available in this era!). The "pop" sound of parachute ejection was heard at t=+ 14 seconds and touchdown occurred at t= +91 seconds (liftoff occurred at t= 0 seconds). |
